How to measure

A: Sleeve length
Lay the garment flat. Measure from the shoulder to the end of the sleeve.
B: Chest
Lay the garment flat. Measure from armpit to armpit.
C: Bottom width (circumference)
Lay the garment flat. Measure from edge to edge at the bottom of the garment.
D: Garment length
Lay the garment flat. Measure from the shoulder down to where the garment ends (back).

I picked up the Blåkläder Cascade 3 Layer Shell Jacket to handle wet and windy workdays on site .

The jacket is surprisingly light and clearly well made . The 4-way stretch fabric gives you full freedom to move, reaching overhead or carrying materials without the shoulders binding or pulling out of place . All the taped seams and waterproof zippers have held up against rough treatment and heavy rain without leaking . The cut works cleanly over a tool belt, and the ventilation zips under the arms keep sweat down when working up an appetite .

My main criticism is thermal performance. The jacket was not as warm as I expected . Even in relatively mild chill around 5 to 10 degrees, cold air cuts right through the fabric if worn over just a basic t-shirt . You must treat it strictly as a weather shield, meaning you will need a fleece or light insulated vest underneath as soon as the thermometer drops .

Taking off one star because of the lack of warmth, but it remains a solid, durable outer layer if you plan your layering properly .
