With roots firmly planted in the heartland of the Swedish textile industry, Blåkläder has a long and proud history of clothing production for both fashion and industry. After more than 60 years in the business the family-run company has gained a deep understanding how to produce clothing.
SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE & SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
Sustainability lies in Blåkläder’s DNA. This is why we are particularly proud that our factories in Myanmar have been awarded LEED Platinum status, the highest classification in the LEED Green Building Certification for environmentally sustainable buildings. But for us at Blåkläder, sustainability is about more than environmental issues. Our social responsibility is what really defines us. We view secure employment, access to healthcare, and long-term support for the communities in which we operate as a matter of utmost importance.
UNMATCHED QUALITY & LIFETIME GUARANTEE ON OUR SEAMS
Our workwear is known to last long and survive in the toughest conditions, and that is something we take our deepest pride in. Long-lasting sustainable clothing is and has always been the model for Blåkläder, and therefore we take great pride in our commitment ”Lifetime guarantee on seams”. This reflects our strong belief in our products, as well as our promise to the customer that the seams will not break until the clothes are worn out.

FULLY CONTROLLED AND TRANSPARENT VALUE CHAIN
A limited number of carefully selected suppliers are the foundation for a high level of transparency and control in a supply chain. In the same spirit as we do everything else – all the way – we work in close relationships with our partners and suppliers to reduce our global footprint, use more sustainable energy and be more efficient with resources. With only close and long-term supplier relations we can make sure our supply chain is as open and transparent as possible. We’re not just ticking boxes, we’re trying to think outside the box.
We are keeping the number of partners in our supply chain to a minimum. We dare to say that the key to profound sustainable work in a supply chain is to have close relationships and access to all suppliers. A limited number of carefully selected suppliers is the foundation for a high level of transparency in a supply chain. The total Blåkläder supplier base is less than 100 partners. In our industry, it is not uncommon for companies to have 5-10 times as many. From our point of view, this is the way to go.
FOR HARDWORKING WOMEN
Although the working industry has long been dominated by men, there is absolutely no doubt that women are entitled to the same options concerning workwear. Therefore, at Blåkläder we can proudly state that we offer complete women’s collections in all occupational categories. Even more; we have maternity trousers.
TIRELESS PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – WITH OUR END USERS
In Blåkläder’s very own product development department, we go full throttle. During the last couple of years, 800 new products have seen the light of day, and the total number of articles in our stock is the awe-inspiring 18 000.
However, this is something we could never have done ourselves. The most important product developers in the big picture are our end customers, and they have been gracious enough to help us out. Just as it should be.
